Day 4

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” - Romans 12:2 (NIV)

In the book of Romans, Chapter 12 Verse 2, the Apostle Paul expresses that in order for us to know God’s Will for our lives, we must not conform to the pattern of this world - in other words, we need to break free from chasing after worldly desires and living according to what the majority of the world sees fit.

By instinct, all of us chase these things in pursuit of happiness, status, and a sense of purpose to name a few, but this eventually leads to burn out, insecurities, and ultimately sin. Instead, we must be transformed from the renewing of our mind. We need to think differently. We need to shift our focus.

How do we renew our mind? By reading God’s word and spending time talking with Him so that we can understand His perfect will for our lives. By growing in our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ask yourself this question:

• Am I living for the world or am I living for God?

Prayer:

Lord, as I navigate the complexities of this world, I echo the prayer of Romans 12:2. Transform my mind, renew my perspective, and guide me in discerning Your perfect will. May my thoughts and actions be shaped by Your truth, that I may live a life pleasing to You. In the midst of a changing world, anchor me in the unchanging foundation of Your Word. Amen.
