Day 11

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” -‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ (‭NIV‬‬)

Before all the scientific research and studies we have access to today on mindset, the Apostle Paul understood that the thoughts we think are extremely powerful. Think about it - how likely are you to be in a bad mood if you are thinking negative thoughts? I would guess it’s a very high possibility. Now because we are thinking negatively and have therefore fallen into a bad mood, this negative mindset will begin to spill out into every area of our lives.

Instead of giving thanks in all circumstances, we begin to complain. We begin to see our jobs as chores and the people we interact with as annoying, instead of being thankful that we have the ability to work, to make money to provide for our families, and to help others in the process. 

If a situation arises in your day that seems to disrupt your plans, instead of letting negative thoughts take hold fueled by anger and frustration, I challenge you to find the positive. These are opportunities to trust in Jesus. To trust in His plan for your day - for your life. Think about how He has blessed you thus far. Think about His Love for you. Think about such things.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we lift our hearts to you, seeking purity in our thoughts. Grant us the strength to focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable, as we navigate the challenges of life. May our minds be a sanctuary of positivity, reflecting the virtues that honor You and uplift those around us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
