Day 18

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” - James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭(NIV)‬‬

I’m not sure if there’s anyone who willfully enjoys facing trials in life. The loss of a loved one or a job, dealing with the uncertainty of a sickness, relationship, and financial troubles, the list goes on and on. All are trials that we face in life.

Sometimes we face problems that a simple one-click Google search seems to fix. Other times our problems have us racking our brains, searching endlessly across the internet for answers to no end.

As much as we hate going through these difficult trials, there is a great opportunity they produce between us and The Good Lord above. An opportunity to place our trust in Him and not our circumstances. An opportunity to lean on Jesus and not our own understanding.

It’s these times when we truly learn to surrender to Jesus and ask Him for His Healing, His Peace, His Comfort, His Rest, His Love. If you’re in a season where you feel you’re constantly searching for answers, try seeking The Answer and know that as you do, your faith and relationship with Jesus will only grow stronger.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we approach You with gratitude amidst trials, recognizing them as opportunities for growth. Grant us the endurance to persevere, knowing that through challenges, our faith is refined and strengthened. May we emerge from adversity with unwavering trust in Your purpose and a character molded by perseverance. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
