TRUST ISSUES (Part 4): A Battle for the Heart
Text: Ephesians 6:12, Romans 12:9–21, Psalm 13
Big Idea: Distrust is Satan’s favorite strategy—it divides, dehumanizes, and destroys.
Key Phrase: Distrust breaks; trust builds.
Practice: Discernment • Love • Lament
Ascent Step: Choosing Trust Over Distrust
In a world full of distortion, we need discernment.
The enemy sows lies and fear to fracture relationships, fuel dehumanization, and make us forget God’s purposes. But even in the darkest times, God’s light shines brightest—and Jesus calls His people to be carriers of that light.
📖 Highlights from the Message:
▶ Our struggle isn’t against flesh and blood but against lies and spiritual forces of evil.
▶ Distrust takes root in our hearts toward God, people, and institutions.
▶ Dehumanization fuels division: turning “them” into less than human.
▶ God’s purposes are greater than betrayals, politics, and pain.
▶ Darkness is the backdrop for God’s brightest light—through His people.
🙏 Challenge for This Week:
Practice discernment in a culture of distortion. Choose one place where distrust has taken hold—and instead of feeding division, speak truth, offer grace, or take the first step toward healing.
💡 Closing Hope:
Distrust fractures, but God restores. Darkness magnifies the stars—and in Jesus, the Light of the World, we are called to shine with faith, hope, and love.
Questions to Consider:
Where do you see distrust creeping in—toward God, people, or institutions?
How have you seen division lead to dehumanization?
What would it look like to “overcome evil with good” in your relationships this week?
