🔥 Triggered: When People Push Your Buttons
What if peace isn’t about avoiding people—but choosing your response to them?
In this second message of our Triggered series, we’re facing one of the biggest sources of emotional reactions: people. The ones who ignore us, criticize us, or don’t meet our expectations. The truth? Most of our emotional triggers are tied to them—but what comes out of us is still our responsibility.
📖 This week, we explore how Scripture helps us reclaim emotional responsibility by pre-deciding our response. You can’t always control what others do—but you can choose what spirit you carry into the moment. Jesus didn’t outsource His peace, and neither should we.
📚 Key Scriptures:
Romans 12:17–21 (Live at peace with everyone)
Colossians 3:12–15 (Clothe yourself with compassion, let peace rule)
Matthew 5:9 (Blessed are the peacemakers)
🗝️ Your peace doesn’t depend on their behavior—it depends on who rules your heart.
In This Sermon, You’ll Learn:
✔️ Why most emotional triggers trace back to relational wounds or expectations
✔️ How blaming others gives them control over your peace ✔️ What it means to pre-decide your response with compassion and clarity
✔️ How Jesus invites us to respond in love, not just defend ourselves
💬 “You don’t need their apology to choose your response.”
⚡ This week’s challenge: Pre-decide your emotional response. Don’t wait until the button gets pushed—clothe yourself in peace now.
