Summer on the Mount - Part 2: Meant to be Seen

Big Idea: Following Jesus was never meant to be hidden.

Scripture: Matthew 5:13–16

Supporting: Genesis 12:1–3; Isaiah 49:6; John 8:12; Ephesians 5:8–16; 1 Peter 2:9–12

After Jesus redefines the good life, He gives His followers a new identity. They are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. This is not an invitation to perform for attention, but a calling to live in such a way that the goodness of God becomes visible through them.

Discussion Questions:

1. When you think about your everyday life, where is your faith most visible? Where is it most hidden?

2. Jesus calls His followers the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” What practical difference should a Christian make in the places where they live, work, and spend time?

3. What is one step you could take this week to make the goodness of God more visible through your life?
